Emmy the Great (Emma-Lee Moss)
When first listening one may first be engulfed by this song writer's sweet girlish voice and simple guitar chords.
However upon more listening you will realize there is much more to this girl's music.
For instance, there will be times when hearing Emmy's lyrics and one can only think: This is exactly what I felt when that bastard dumped me (Try: Canopies and Grape).
Though Emmy's music isnt just about boys and being angry with them, a lot of them hold truth and force the listener to feel what she is feeling. For example take a listen to "Edward is Dedward," and if you know someone who has passed away this will speak to you. Her song is a beautiful rendition of what mourning means. Her songs speak of honesty and truth, even in the scariest of situations (Try: We Almost Had a Baby).
Also please note Emmy is a native to London and her accent will most definitely charm the pants off you.
